Mrs. D’Souza has a Master’s of Arts Degree from the University of Bombay, India and is the recipient of five awards and certificates for performance at the Early Childhood Education Program, from the Ministry of Education.  Most recently, Mrs. D’Souza was a Pre-K teacher at Holy Rosary in Tacoma for 8 years. “I endeavor to create a happy, caring and stimulating environment that is fun, where each child expresses and discover themselves, whilst learning at their pace.” Mrs. D’Souza will also be teaching Lower School art and computer.

Mrs. Shirk, while pursuing her Master’s in Elementary Education at WGU, will be leading the Kindergarten classroom. She looks forward to welcoming returning and first year students to Academy Schools this fall!

With well over twenty years of teaching in the K-8 arena and a Master’s in Education Administration, Carma Rodriguez is ready to embrace the multiage 1-2 classroom at Academy Schools this fall, and sharing her expertise with all our teachers.

Ms. Gianola will be teaching Spanish to all students this year, as well as co-teaching grades 3-5 with Mr. Ross. But Ms. Gianola’s love of language does not stop with Spanish… be sure to ask her how to say “Welcome” in Swahili!
