Community Service

Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It’s the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.” ~ Dorothy Height

Community service is an integral part of Academy Schools. It defines us and sustains us. Our students participate in at least two projects a year, and respond to local as well as global emergencies as they arise. Some of those projects include: fundraisers for Gilda’s House and Autism Speaks – Light It Up Blue; food drives for the Kent & Tukwila Food Banks; stuffed animal collection for Tukwila’s emergency responder teams; blankets made by the students for King County Housing shut-ins; clothing drives for homeless children.

Students at Academy Schools understand what it is to give of themselves in service to others in need.
