History

Founded in 1996 by Camille Cummings, Janelle Neil, and Claudia Jacobus, Academy Schools began as an Early Childhood program with its primary focus on collaborative inclusion in a co-curricular educational setting. Over time, grades were added, and by 2002, we received OSPI approval as a K-12 school.

The story has been one of growth and success in enrollment, program, financial stability, and community presence. For many children, coming to Academy Schools is the first time they experience a sense of achievement and confidence in school. Children at Academy Schools gain the skills and conviction needed to advance successfully to college and beyond. The impact of Academy Schools on a child’s future is inspiring and profound.

Today, Academy Schools prides itself on the fact that its students love to come to school and love learning. Academy Schools prepares students for a lifetime of success.
