Zachary, Academy Schools Alum and Eagle Scout

Today, we received an invitation to attend the Court of Honor ceremonies presenting Zachary Schlosser with Scouting’s highest honor, The Eagle Scout Award. The invitation went on to say, “Since 1912 more than two million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout award – Scouting’s highest rank advancement. Eagle Scouts exemplify the virtues of service, leadership, and duty to God, using their training and influence to better their communities and the world.”

Academy Schools knows first-hand the service Zach provided to better our community. It was Zach and his fellow Scouts who first came to the aid of Dr. Boomhower and helped launch the initial cleanup of our hillside, phase one of the vision for an Outdoor Environmental Learning Center. These young men spent hours on the hillside, pulling out invasive plants, such as blackberry vines, ultimately hauling away a couple of tons of brush and debris. Please stay tuned for an upcoming post with all the before and after photos, including some of Zach.

We congratulate Zachary, Academy Schools graduate, Class of 2014, for achieving this great honor. We applaud his hard work and tenacity, and thank him for his service! Job well done!
